BOTHERED & BEWILDERED written by Gail Young

male,female, aged 18 to 36

United Kingdom

BOTHERED & BEWILDERED written by Gail Young Auditions: Sunday June 17th at 2.30pm Performance: October 13th to 20th Director: Shirley Browning 01892 722828 07724566180 shirley@moatlands.co.uk : Please contact ref.scripts and any questions. This play is described as a ‘comic drama’ and indeed there are undoubtedly some very amusing parts but as it deals with the increasing problems which occur with advancing years, together with loss of memory, it is here we find the drama. The central character, Irene, with encouragement from her favourite romantic author Barbara Cartland (seen only by her! ), visits again events which have been buried for many years from her family and even herself. This results in a many faceted and very believable play, built mainly around Irene, her daughters Louise and Beth, and grand-daughter Shelley. Characters: Barbara Cartland Irene: An elderly widow Louise: Her daughter Beth: Her daughter Shelley: Her grand-daughter NHS Consultant Local policeman Young Irene Jim James: A young man These last three characters and Barbara are all in Irene’s mind. Shelley and Young Irene, and Jim and James are played by the same actors. The policeman and consultant also can be played by the one actor.
